Dr. Anokhi Dalia Bock Dr. Derek Bock DrDerek@forestorthopedo.com ![]() Following his dental school graduation, Dr. Derek moved to the Midwest to complete his post-graduate training in Orthodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed a three-year residency in orthodontics and obtained his Master of Science (M.S.) in Oral Sciences. In addition to his residency, Dr. Derek also completed a one-year fellowship in Craniofacial Orthodontics at the University of Illinois Craniofacial Center. It was during this fellowship where Dr. Derek received additional training in dealing with orthodontic problems as they relate to children with craniofacial syndromes, especially cleft lip/palate. He also co-authored an article that was featured in the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery: "Natal teeth: a potential impediment to nasoalveolar molding in infants with cleft lip and palate." J Craniofac Surg. 2005 Mar;16(2):262-6 Dr. Derek's scholarly interests include advanced concepts of smile design as they related to facial balance and harmony. He has done extensive research of the width of smile as it relates to facial harmony. He has an article pending publication on "The Perception of Buccal Corridors in Smile Esthetics". He is an active member of the ADA (American Dental Association), the AAO (American Academy of Orthodontists), the ISO (Illinois Society of Orthodontists), the ISDS (Illinois State Dental Society), the CDS (Chicago Dental Society), and the ACPCA (American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association). During his free time Dr. Derek is an avid golfer; he also loves running, cycling, and competes in triathlons. He is an accomplished guitar player, and believes that creating music should be a fundamental activity that every child should have the opportunity to participate in. He and his wife, Dr. Anokhi, enjoy outdoor activities with their daughters, Bela, Asha, Lila and their Labrador Retriever, Cooper. Dr. Anokhi Bock DrAnokhi@forestorthopedo.com ![]() After receiving her Bachelor of Science (BS), Dr. Anokhi continued her studies at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. This is where she and Dr. Derek met! She graduated with high honors and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (a national dental honor society). While in dental school, she received several awards and distinctions. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2003, she moved to Indianapolis, IN, so she could continue her studies at Riley Children's Hospital through Indiana University School of Dentistry. There she completed her two-year residency in pediatric dentistry and obtained her Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD). While in residency she received a Graduate Student Research Award through the AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry) for her research on fluoride's effect on bone. The summer after residency, Dr. Anokhi Dalia and Dr. Derek Bock got married! They enjoyed a wonderful 10 day honeymoon to Tahiti and Bora Bora, after which she joined the practice of Jerry Udelson, DDS, in Forest Park, Illinois. In July of 2007, the Bocks welcomed their first child, Bela, to their family! The Bock family did not stop growing there, on October 26th 2009, Bela became a big sister to Asha! On April 20th 2012, both Bela and Asha had the honor of becoming big sisters to Lila. ![]() Professionally, Dr. Anokhi stays actively involved in the pediatric dental community. She has formed a study club with other pediatric dentists in the area. She is currently on staff at Lake Forest Hospital. She is an active member of the ADA (American Dental Association), the AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics), the ABPD (American Board of Pediatric Dentistry), the ISPD (Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists), The ISDS (Illinois State Dental Society), and the CDS (Chicago Dental Society). She has also participated in a program by the AAP called "Bright Smiles from Birth", which provides fluoride varnish application training, and oral health care education to local pediatricians. The goal of the program is to prevent childhood caries, and to help decrease the incidence of caries by promoting early treatment with fluoride varnish and early referral. Dr. Anokhi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. |

Dr. Ara Cho D.M.D. graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of
Science in Chemistry with Specialization in Biochemistry in 2006. She received
her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in
Boston, MA in 2010. During her fourth year of dental school, she served as a
Preclinical and Clinical Teaching Assistant. Also, she was honored with the
American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Horace Wells Senior Student
Award.
Dr. Cho completed two years of postgraduate residency and received a
Certificate of Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at Lutheran Medical Center in
Providence, RI in 2012. She stayed on as full-time faculty for an additional
year, where she taught both pediatric dental residents and dental
students.
In her spare time. Dr. Cho loves reading, traveling, and spending time with her
husband.
Dr. Cho is a member of the AAPD (American Academy of
Pediatric Dentistry), the ABPD (American Board of
Pediatric Dentistry) and is a Board Canidate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
